    1. List three production standards from Hays code.
methods of crime shall not be explicit

brutal killing will not be presented in detail

no picture should ever be produced with lower standards than those who view it

    2. Briefly describe the blockbuster mentality
that films had to be made big budget to be successful

    3. What was the 1969-71 crisis?
the five major production companies lost over 200 million dollars

I think I am feeling more comfortable with the class. Unfortunately I overlooked the first assignment due date of Thursday, I thought everything was due today, Saturday. I am learning to read all the information thoroughly.

I have a question about posting to Uniblogs. After I posted my resource lists, part of the source URLs were cut-off, although they appeared before I hit “publish”. How do I prevent this from happening in the future?

A comment: I find the multiple writings for this module along with the research, took an extraordinary amount of time. It was lucky I had lots of time to spend on it this week, but I am concerned about the time commitment during a normal work week, and having enough time for my other courses. Hopefully, as the course moves along, it will become easier since I will have a better idea of what Shelley expects, and can develop a better “rhythm” in moving through the module in a more reasonable amount of time.

I really enjoy this course, however, and hope I can hang in there!

    2. Name 5 controversial subjects this movie touches on.

The only question I have is regarding the about of information that should be entered on our research and reflection blogs.

-What do you think was the reasoning behind the gruesome beating the thress characters recieved in the woods?
    – It was the men and others in the coffee shop. They did it because these characters stood for freedom, and difference. The guys from the coffee shop were stubborn, blind southerners.
-What major events occured during/around the making of this film?
–The assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Woodstock and the Vietnam war.

    - Questions/Comments
–I have to apologize, I cheated myself as well as others out on not having a blog for the readings. I will have them for next week. I do have to agree with the fact that this course and the recording is a bit time consuming. This is my first online class, so I’m trying to keep up. The technology as well, I’m learning. I do like the course outline and the movies she has picked out for us. It all looks fun…
