1.) a. I was surprised at how the industry has changed to start realizing the log term profits any movie will make.
B. I was also surprised that there were so many corporations that were merged with other corporations.
2.) A. One of the things I learned was that peoples perspectives on “good” or “bad” in regards to films was unbelievable but in listening to others opinions and evaluating their validity I was impressed to find that they in turn made me reevalutate my stand. NOt always changing my mind but to cause me to look deeper.
B.I am learning that a persons personality can even speak through a computer, not only with the costomization of blogs pages but also throught what each person chooses to research and what they have to say about it in their blogs.
3.)Why are movies not still relesed like they used to be to a small audience? It seems to me that it would still be a good approach. I also wonder whyit the producers are worried about movies being flops why do they put together theses seemingly low budget half thought out juvinal films, are they really that big of a money maker?

1) The text makes a very important point of how high the risk factor is in making films. The chapter explains the many steps that are involved, the huge amounts of money that are invested, and how many hands the revenue passes through before it ever reaches the producer. Changes in our culture, business world, and technology have both enabled and forced the industry to find other ways to make money on films, whereas the movie theatre used to be the only option.
2) The most important things I learned from the postings were the meanings of some film terms I have not yet researched. In addition, I received better clarification of a term I had already researched. Another important point I learned from the postings, in general, is that we all need to give more attention to our spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Upon re-reading some of my own posts, I thought, “I cannot believe I did not catch that ugly mistake!”. In the future, I think it will be well worth taking the time to write my posts in MS Word, then run a spell and grammar check prior to cutting and pasting into Uniblogs. I cannot expect others to respond if my posts are written so sloppily that they are almost incomprehensible.
3) There is a mention in the text of how negative press can impact audience perception of a film before it is released. I am curious as to how this has impacted the film industry historically. In other words, I wonder how many films have completely flopped because people did not bother to see them due to negative press?

I found learning about where films come from and are financed important. I think we are quick to believe that American films are always American produced. I also found the financial side of film making interesting. I was amazed at how much money some actors take home, especially if they are producing the film as well as starring.
I learned that we all seem to be picking up on the same small details. For example many of us discovered how much time and effort was put into Titanic to make the film as accurate as possible. Many of us ran through the search engines and found some characters mentioned in the film Titanic were actually factual.
As far as questions regarding the module go, I think I am okay.

I learned about some of the film term meanings. A lot of the students had good definition and information on the terms better than what I could find.
